Penhas Douradas is located at about 1,300 meters of altitude and stands out for its colorful chalets and view of the Zêzere River Glacier Valley. After the scientific expedition carried out in 1880 by the Lisbon Geographical Society, the physician Sousa Martins (specialized in the fight against tuberculosis) considered Penhas Douradas the healthiest place in the country, thanks to its clean and fresh air. It is a place of extreme beauty where children and adults can play in the snow during winter.
