Experiences
Follow the Shepherd
In this hike we will follow the footsteps of the shepherd and his herd, looking for the greenest pastures. You’ll be part of the shepherd’s workday, listen to his stories and enter in communion with nature through smell, hearing, feeling and tasting. At the end of the activity, upon arriving at the pasture, we will share with him a meal.
Serra da Estrela Cheese Tasting
We will taste a special selection of sheep and goat cheeses accompanied by various delicacies that complement and enhance its flavor, such as wine, jams or fresh fruits.
We will tell you the stories and legends surrounding Serra da Estrela cheese and explain the culture and traditions that make it such a special product.
Paint With Natural Colors
Before painting we’ll search for pigments in the forest. You don’t need to go far to discover the most suitable vegetable, rock or tree that gives a special tone. While exploring, we’ll talk about Serra da Estrela ecosystem and, later, you’ll learn the diverse processes to achieve different colors and, then, you’ll paint with them.
Nature and Gastronomy
Wildlife with
a touch of culture
In all our experiences we combine the incredible natural heritage of Serra da Estrela, with the immense cultural and human heritage of the community in which we live. What surrounds us is our work base, so that in our activities a genuine and authentic immersion in the life of this territory is possible.
Even gastronomic experiences always lead us to share our knowledge of the mountain, whether they are the picnics that occur in places of special natural beauty, the activity “Glean the Forest” or the event “Serra da Estrela Recipes”. These experiences allow us to transmit the wisdom and stories we receive from older people, be they friends, family, or the people we interview. We serve for anyone that follows a specific diet or has a food allergies or intolerances: gluten free, vegan, keto… Just tell us.
Services we provide:

Sustainability
What has always been natural in our daily lives - reducing consumption and waste, being an active part of our community - has become strategic in our company. Our action is visible in different areas, such as environmental protection, transparent company management, the establishment of local and institutional partnerships, the valorization of natural and cultural heritage and social responsibility. We are therefore a company certified by Biosphere in sustainable tourism since June 2019. A recognition that we have been renewing to this day.
Regeneration
We also have regenerative action when necessary. Among other actions, we've cut down the old pine forest (which is not an indigenous tree in the Serra da Estrela Natural Park) and planted local species, such as black oak, holm oak, yew, strawberry tree, rowan and laurel. And we protect the sprouts that grow spontaneously on our land. Furthermore we let our garden develop spontaneously, only with native species, which generates food for insects and birds in the region and reduces the need for watering.
Reviews
Gente só uma palavra... obrigado miguel e Inês. Vcs são top da galáxia, como dizem os moleques hoje! Lugar pra ir sempre!!!
Location is very convenient, house is well maintained, the hosts are beyond the best. They are very welcoming, gave us a lot of useful information, answered all the questions very fast, met us with homemade sweets that was lovely. Despite unexpectedly cold weather we felt very comfortable in the house. The bed linen was made of fleece and there were heaters in each room and bathroom. There’s enough space for everything and everybody.
We absolutely loved every moment of our stay with wonderful Inês & Miguel. They made us feel right at home and after a long drive arrived to a beautiful fireplace made for us, freshly brewed tea & lots of delicious spoils. This incredible house is located in the perfect location, peaceful and beautiful but also close enough to town if you need to get something or want to explore. The bed was so comfortable and the house is heated so well. Sitting in front of the fire totally relaxing was so good for the soul. We will definitely be back soon! Thank you for the best stay ever! We loved every moment and all your kindness and spoils meant so much to us. We can’t wait to come back!
Our stay at Casa Cerro da Correia was the highlight of our trip to Portugal, we only wish we could've stayed longer. Ines and Miguel could not have been kinder or more welcoming. The home was charming and comfortable, and our cheese tasting was both informative and delicious. The shepherds hike was exactly what we had hoped and more — meeting Mr. Augusto and his wife, exploring his farm, and walking with his herd was beautiful and surreal. My family and I will be recommending the experience to anyone who plans to visit, and we hope to come back again in the future!
Our visit to Ines and Miguel's house was wonderful. First of all, we would like to reiterate what was previously mentioned: the hosts are lovely! They are very caring, professional, and respectful towards the place and us as guests. Their deep love for the house is evident in the small details and in the overall hospitality experience. The way they greeted us significantly impacted our experience, making us feel more connected to the place. The house itself is full of character, featuring a beautiful and clever combination of design and objects. Every detail reflects the thoughtfulness and soul of the hosts, as well as the history of the house. We were a group of four adults and two children, and all of us had fun and fell in love with the place. We visited in the summer, during hot days, yet we could comfortably spend the entire day at home. In the evenings, the air was delightful.
